I know, it's silly. You're always taking care of me. But I do feel guilty, giving so many of my burdens over to you.

Ah, yes. It's a university for the science I was using there.

Though you can also study branches like physics and such there too, I suppose. But it's primarily for sfeer theory.

[Really, what's the difference? Doesn't some magic need to be studied too? Well, it really depends on the type of magic system that people are working with.]

What is sfeer theory?

It's what you saw there. You use your willpower to start off physical and chemical reactions to change the area around you.

I do, yes.

My life has been one of obligation after obligation. Who to dress up for, who to be nice to, do this, do that, don't step out of line. I've never had the chance to choose much for myself.

But sfeer theory, that's my thing. That's my own interest, nobody else told me to study it. That's part of why it's so important to me: it's not an obligation.

[He goes quiet as Luca talks- he doesn't move his hand from Luca's shoulder either.

What on earth is that like?

Omi's expression stays soft and gentle, because he is interested. How did Luca end up loving it so much?]

How did you learn about it in the beginning?

I read about it in a book, back when I was a young boy. It's a relatively new field of study- the university I work at has only had classes for the last twenty years- but I was absolutely fascinated by what I was reading. Making fire from nothing? Changing an object's shape? All with one's own willpower? It sounds like something out of a fantasy novel.

But it's not. It's a science. And science is a constant in the world.

[He can't hate a man for finding something he loves so dearly. Omi might be... a little jealous, if he's honest with himself. The same way he was when he realized that one of his teammate's motives were purely his.

It's like that, all over again.

Omi loves acting, but it wasn't his to begin with- and that's something he can never forget.]

Yes, that's what it is. In general at least, there's a lot more to it beyond that.

You know, I've been thinking. It might be nice to just pursue something of my own choosing for a while. When this is over and we're all let out, I think I'm going to do just that.
