My life has been one of obligation after obligation. Who to dress up for, who to be nice to, do this, do that, don't step out of line. I've never had the chance to choose much for myself.

But sfeer theory, that's my thing. That's my own interest, nobody else told me to study it. That's part of why it's so important to me: it's not an obligation.

How did you learn about it in the beginning?

I read about it in a book, back when I was a young boy. It's a relatively new field of study- the university I work at has only had classes for the last twenty years- but I was absolutely fascinated by what I was reading. Making fire from nothing? Changing an object's shape? All with one's own willpower? It sounds like something out of a fantasy novel.

But it's not. It's a science. And science is a constant in the world.

[He can't hate a man for finding something he loves so dearly. Omi might be... a little jealous, if he's honest with himself. The same way he was when he realized that one of his teammate's motives were purely his.

Yes, that's what it is. In general at least, there's a lot more to it beyond that.

You know, I've been thinking. It might be nice to just pursue something of my own choosing for a while. When this is over and we're all let out, I think I'm going to do just that.

It's both. I was part of photography club back in college, and I ended up in the industry after I graduated.
