[ Incredibly, Yuel and Omi are running into each other outside of the kitchen for once! Even more incredible, is that the moment Yuel opens her mouth to greet him, they're both launched through time and space into the memory of an arduous battle (please pretend Yuel is in the battle party).
It lasts barely a minute before Yuel is standing there with a surprised look, though she's quick to set a hand on Omi's shoulder. ]
[He would respond to that, but the moment she puts a hand on his shoulder she gets to see a memory.
There's a much younger Omi there, maybe 10 or 11. He's got a bunch of shopping bags in his hands and he starts walking. It doesn't seem like there's any particular place he has in mind. The sun starts going down, and he finally reaches a riverbed.
That younger Omi sits there, staring at the sun and curls up. The grocery bags are sat at his side.
His thoughts drift by, I wonder how my dad and brothers are doing right now. I wonder if they're hungry. But they're always saying they want pizza, so maybe they just ordered that.
There's a tired bitterness to his thoughts. What was he trying so hard for?]
... My mother died when I was young, and my dad didn't take it well. He barely managed to go to work. He stopped showing any emotion and wasn't able to keep up with any housework, let alone take care of three kids.
Since I was the oldest, I asked my dad to let me take care of all the housework. I learned how to cook and clean, all of that.
[He sighs.]
I wasn't feeling appreciated in the moment, is all.
Tokyo? Never heard of it. [ She looks curious, trying to recall the scene from the memory. ] Do ya have gigantic buildings and lotsa fast machines there too?
