The memory begins with Omi laid up in bed. It looks like he's sustained a ton of injuries, even if the present day Omi only has the scratch on his chin.
It takes... a while, but eventually he starts being able to move again. And the second he has full control of his limbs, and his family isn't home, he's out of the house.
He knows what he's going to do. He's going to avenge Nachi, and he's going to destroy the gang that did this to them.
Omi is ruthless, and effective. For a teenager who's only very recently healed up enough to move, he's wrecking them. They fight back, but he's dedicated to his vengeance and impossible to stop.
There's the snap of a broken bone (theirs), motorcycles being smashed- Omi in this concentrated state is nothing like the Omi that Fukuda's come to know in the base.
He leaves once he's satisfied. The other gang members are bloodied, battered and beaten. Omi does not check to see if they are alive or breathing.]
But I wanted to see it. Aah, that was more than I could have possibly asked for... Omi... even your imperfection is beautiful, how passionate it was. [He is going to try and take both of Omi's hands in his.]
[Fukuda is just vibing. Or well, he is, until it happens again, but this time, it's a strange tower, surrounded on all sides by a wall of cascading water. People are running around, terrified.
He is not supposed to remember that he is Tamotsu Fukuda. He's supposed to forget. He knows this, so he keeps it to himself. Once again, he looks down at Kaeru's body, and the fabricated memory flows into his head. This is Kaeru. And he is the Brilliant Detective Anaido, whose job it is to solve Kaeru's murder.
But he can't focus on that, because Anaido does not have a hole in his head. He keeps looking around. 1 2 3 4 5 6- There are a lot of people on this roof, diameter maybe 100, 110 meters, and they keep moving around. 7 8 9 10, no he counted that person already- 10 11- He tries to look back down at Kaeru's body but there are still people left to count. Last time, miss Togo said he was alive for 12.6 seconds. The time before that was 11.5 seconds. The walls, those are made of bricks, he will have to count those too. 22 maybe 23 centimeters square. 12 13 14- Last time, the shooter was acting on 12 second intervals. It's been-
Anaido is shot in the head, and for that split second when all brain function ceases, his heart stops, Fukuda's heart stops, but then he wakes up in the cockpit, and his heart judders back to life, the ache just slightly a bit worse than before.]
[It's a lot to deal with, all at once. From the memory of his vengeance for Nachi to whatever is going on here.
Fukuda? But it's not Fukuda, it's somebody else who Omi doesn't know. This person is having some kind of problem. It's not like he can't focus, it's that he's focusing on the wrong things, and Omi can kind of understand that. Even if it's not quite to this extent and then-
And then he's shot?
But Fukuda isn't dead and Omi's just confused.
He'll just. Deal with one part of this at a time?]
[Fukuda closes his eyes, though his grip on Omi's hands tightens. He's hoping that just new contact pulls out a memory? So as long as he holds on nothing else would happen. He didn't think it would happen twice. He didn't think it was going to turn back on him!!!!]
Mm.... Me? But not really me. Inside an ID Well, I'm Brilliant Detective Anaido. [Omi might dimly remember him muttering something about wells and cockpits and kaeru the first week, in the clone room.]
Week 2: Monday
Hey, Fukuda.

[Fukuda is actually? Immediately going over and putting his hand on Omi's arm? Give me your memories you secretive man.]

Who's Anaido?

Mm.... Me? But not really me. Inside an ID Well, I'm Brilliant Detective Anaido.
[Omi might dimly remember him muttering something about wells and cockpits and kaeru the first week, in the clone room.]

What's an ID Well?
[He has a vague memory of this, but he also didn't ask then.]
no subject
It's a sort of simulation that's used to solve murders.
no subject
I didn't know there were things like that.
Are you doing alright?
[Because that other him sure didn't seem like he was.]
no subject
[Who's Anaido I don't know any Anaido, everything is fine and great. He is looking away.]
